Company History

Metal Manufacturing Industries was founded in 1999 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with the mission of manufacturing hollow metal doors and steel frames that protect buildings and the people inside them. From day one, our priority has been technical quality and rigorous adherence to international standards.

Over the years, MMI has built a complete portfolio of architectural openings — commercial, fire-rated, blast-resistant, sound-rated, lead-lined, vandal-resistant, bullet-resistant, and detention hollow metal doors — along with masonry and drywall steel frames and certified architectural hardware. Every product line is backed by certifications from Underwriters Laboratories (UL), FM Approvals, Intertek / Warnock Hersey, and Florida Building.

Milestones

  • 1999 — Founded in San Luis Potosí. Manufacturing operations begin for hollow metal doors and steel frames.
  • 2012 — Launch of the blast-resistant door product line, manufactured to Hollow Metal Manufacturers Association (HMMA) standards and SDI 133.
  • 2016 — MMI becomes the first Latin American manufacturer of construction products to publish Revit families through the BIM Object platform — a decisive step into Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • 2018 — Strategic alliance with WKS to deliver complete architectural openings — door, frame, and hardware — through a single point of contact for the customer.

Today

MMI’s focus today is on technical specialization in high-value product lines: detention doors under ANSI/HMMA 863, bullet-resistant doors under UL 752, blast-resistant doors, and fire-rated doors labeled up to 3 hours. This focus lets us support architectural firms, specifiers, and general contractors on projects where the safety of people and the integrity of the building leave no room for compromise.

Our products are installed today on projects across Mexico, Latin America, and the United States.
